MEN'S BATCH NO.7 - TAN
A classic three-pocket chore jacket, made from an organic cotton French moleskin fabric, and British made corozo nut buttons. We’ve also added hidden hand warmer pockets for our latest iteration. Only 750 jackets will be available on the 8th of May at 9 AM (BST). Limited to one per person.
Your jacket will then be made to order starting on Monday the 10th of May and will deliver in July. You’ll receive weekly behind-the-scenes updates as it makes it’s way through production, so you’ll see exactly what happens along the way.
A unisex fit that’s just the right level of boxy. It fits true to size, so if you prefer an oversized fit, we recommend sizing up. If you’re unsure about sizing, check out our Batch No.7 sizing page.
Fabric & Care
Constructed using a tightly woven, mid-weight, organic cotton, moleskin that’s been finished to give it a soft suede-like feel. We sourced the fabric from an old French mill that has been weaving moleskin for nearly 100 years. Each jacket is garment dyed to give it a worn-in look and feel. Machine washable at 30 degrees, then hang to dry. If needed, iron inside out or steam to take out creases.
Shipping & Returns
Each jacket is made to order and will be shipped in July. Depending on where you live, your jacket will arrive within 1 - 5 days via DHL. Once your jacket is dispatched, you'll receive an email confirming the due date, and tracking details for your jacket. If you’re based in the EU, we will be sending your jacket directly from Portugal so that you won’t incur additional VAT or customs fees.
THE PAYNTER CHORE JACKET
When it comes to iconic workwear staples, few jackets provide the timeless, functional and handsome style of the trusty chore coat. Much like blue jeans, the hardy piece of outerwear has evolved over the past century from a practical uniform worn by blue collar labourers to become an everyday staple for men and women around the world. The chore jacket certainly isn’t tied to a particular time of year either - one of the best things about it is its trans-seasonal style. HARD AS NAILS, POSH AF
We’re very excited to be bringing back one of our favourite fabrics, but this time using organic cotton. Our tightly woven moleskin fabric is made in France, by experts who have been weaving for nearly 200 years. They made the moleskin fabric for the original chore jackets that we know and love today. It’s super tough, softens quickly with wear, and is finished to give it a suede-like feel.
Button-making in the UK is a centuries-old craft and the reputation of its makers is widespread. Our buttons are not only British Made by Courtney & Co, a fifth generation button maker, but they are made from corozo nuts that are grown and naturally harvested. Unlike plastic, our buttons are non-toxic and biodegradable.
CONSTRAINTS MAKE YOU INTERESTING
We believe constraints are creativity’s best friend. Instead of complaining about them, use them to come up with different and more interesting ideas. It’s a principle we’ve lived by since day one. So for Batch No.7, we commissioned motion designer Connor Campbell to design the limited edition label, so that each time you see that little red square, there’s a reminder to keep pushing on. THE CALIFORNIA OF EUROPE
Our jackets are hand made in a factory nestled away on a mountain side in Guimarães, Portugal. It’s a maker town. The factory is a small family run business that has been going for the last 30 years, specialising in jackets. They have a track record for supporting the underdogs. We’re proud to have our jackets made by them.
