Hello,

Three and a half years ago we started Paynter.

We didn't want to follow in the footsteps of our industry and it's broken business model.

Instead, we created a new way of doing business.

Why?

We hated the waste. We hated the speed of consumption. And we hated being told it was impossible to run an independent small clothing business in a way that was environmentally and financially sustainable.

Actually, that last point was the fuel we needed to prove that it was possible!

And so on the 11th May 2019 we launched Batch No.1: 300 jackets that would be made to order. We took our customers behind the scenes with weekly videos to see their jackets being made for them.

And so, Paynter was born. Limited edition jackets, made in Batches, available just four times a year.

It shocked us how many people were ready for a change.

Our first Batch sold out in 14 minutes and we had a wait list of over a thousand people.

Our customers told us they'd never had that kind of experience from a brand before, let alone a clothing brand who are normally top secret in their production processes.

Since then we've compromised on nothing. We've launched 12 Batches in 3 years. A fraction of what any 'regular brand' would churn out. Our product quality has got better with every Batch, thanks to incredible factories, and customers keep telling us that this is the only way they want to shop.

Thanks to you, we've proved that we can be an example of a successful, small, independently owned business and we will keep working hard to make sure we stay in business for the long term.
